The best plans for the day of the Balearic Islands in Palma

On the 1st of March the Day of the Balearic Islands is celebrated throughout the archipelago. With a complete program of activities, most free, it is intended to show all visitors the richness of the archipelago, its traditions and the folklore of each of the islands.
In Menorca the representations of indigenous horses stand out, in Ibiza the purity of the primitive dances and in Mallorca, the autochthonous dances.
Activities in Mallorca
Precisely for the visitors of Mallorca there are programmed a series of gastronomic, cultural, sporting, musical and infantile proposals, from the 27 of February and until the 3 of March, to commemorate the entrance in force of the Statute of Autonomy of 1983. In Palma, some activities are a classic, such as the popular handicraft market, guided tours of various parts of the city, modern and regional dance exhibitions, concerts, exhibitions and children's workshops. Also popular are the sporting events, the theatrical night visits to the Consolat, the ecological merry-go-round and the end of the championship of the best ensaimada in the world.
For gastronomy lovers, during the weekend the "passejades gastronòmiques" are organized. After inscription, different points of the city will be visited to taste different specialties.
On Friday 1st, from Es Baluard as a meeting point, you will leave in search of the best bread.
On Saturday, day 2, various markets will be visited to discover how the city is supplied, from the medieval markets to the present.
And finally, on Sunday, day 3, from the Plaza de Cort the chocolate trail will follow. Free visits to museums and monuments During these days, many of the museums offer open days to their exhibitions and exhibitions.
On day 1 you can visit for free the Cathedral of Mallorca, the Almudaina Palace and the Es Baluard Museum, places located very close to the Born hotel. Also, prior reservation, guided tours are made to the City of Palma and the Parliament of the Balearic Islands. Likewise, Community Day coincides with the opening of the traditional Ram fair, located in the Son Fusteret industrial estate, which has 170 booths and attractions that will remain open until April 28.
